Our Vision

All children will be physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually prepared to enter kindergarten "Ready to Learn, Ready to Succeed, Ready for Life", through the love, nurture and support of their families, their caregivers and their community.

Our Mission

EVERYBODY ready! engages the community to support families and caregivers as they meet the needs of children 0-5.

We Envision A Community...

That is strengthened by and recognized for the value that it places on its children; a community where decisions are made with children in mind and where children are a part of our everyday thinking. A community where not only parents and immediate family, but all sectors of the community, recognize that the quality of all of our lives is significantly impacted by the quality of every person's early childhood experience. Where it is clearly understood and espoused by everyone that what is good for the children is good for all of us, and that all of us must take responsibility for their care.

A Note From the President

Everybody Ready
2006

When we established our mission to create support for young children and their families, we began our focus on Southern Wayne County, we added the words... and beyond.  The group realized that to make major changes, resources would need to be developed at the county and state levels.  Rather than wait for that to happen, efforts were begun at the grass-roots level to build a base.

This year, our hopes began to become reality.  At the state level, the Early Childhood Investment Corporation was created and funded to build county-wide collaboratives.  At the county level, Great Start Collaborative Wayne (County) was formed.  Various agencies, groups and individuals have joined with parents to work toward a coordinated system of resources and services for families with children 0-5.  The first step has been to build a data base of existing services and what areas they serve.  This should be completed the first part of 2007.

Seeing the importance of a successful county effort, Everybody Ready has devoted a significant amount of time and resources to help in this endeavor.  We have provided free office space, as well as having our administrator, Linda Stanko, committing 3 days a week to the Great Start Collaborative-Wayne.
